Description
Circa 1800, George III pine carved mantelpiece. With moulded edge and beaded decorations to the top and a frieze that has a carved gesso design of swags tied with ribbons and a central wheatsheaf motif. The pilasters are decorated with carved gesso bell drops and ribbons. The mantelpiece has been hand stripped and professionally restored. Originally from a home in the New Town, Edinburgh, UK.
