Description
Circa 1890, stylish and unusual late Victorian brass club fender. The seat pads are covered in burgundy leather (recently recovered by ourselves). On the inside section are two hooks on each side for handing fire tools. The seats are held in place by rectangular uprights at the front and back, and there is a cross stretcher held in place by further rectangular uprights and quarter brackets with brass headed screws. The whole piece stands on a chamfered platform base. Good condition, sturdy and functional.
