Description
Circa 1800. A late George III gilded and carved overmantel mirror. The original rectangular bevel edged mirror, contained in a carved and gilded frame with a stylish beading forming the slip, a plain section which has been gilded has carved flower heads on the top corners. Further fine carving forms the inside of the frame, to the outside there is foliate carving, downward facing acorns and leaves. The outside brackets in the base have flowers surrounded by foliate carving.
