Description
Circa 1850. Impressive Dutch brass-mounted colonial teak trunk. The top with large and small brass roundels decoration and a wonderful mellow colour and great patina. The front with an elaborate cut brass lock and the sides and base with brass clasps and a heavy cast brass carrying handle. These colonial trunks are quality items made for Dutch officers and diplomats when visiting the Dutch East Indies and other colonies.
