Description
Circa 1880. A French carved walnut Art Nouveau hall stand/stick stand/bench, the substantial, profusely carved Stand with many French features, with a domed top flanked by a pair of carved finials, the simple frieze with a carved section beneath, the stand with four elaborate cast brass hooks, large, shaped mirror contained in a simple frame with curved carved section in the base, flanked by a section with nine mirrors, 8 beveled, with pierced foliate carving on the top, the center with a large, embossed leather seat with triple panelled back, shaped arms with foliate carving on the front flanked by a pair of demi-lune stick stands with panelled back and three curvaceous legs with sunflowers on the facings and a removable drip tray. The bench rests on four turned legs with rectangular carving on the front with small arches.
