Attractive George III mahogany secretaire bookcase of neat proportions in excellent original condition

Description

Circa 1800. Attractive George III mahogany secretaire bookcase of neat proportions. Surmounted by a moulded and Greek key cornice above a beaded frieze, the two astragal-glazed doors opening to three adjustable bookshelves. The secretaire drawer with a polished writing surface and satinwood interior with drawers with original brass axe-head handles, pigeonholes and compartments. All above three graduated drawers with oak linings (sign of quality) and original brass knob handles. All supported on original shaped bracket feet. The base with ebony and boxwood string inlay, lovely colour and patina and in excellent condition.
