Description
Circa 1870. A Louis XIV style amboyna and ormolu mounted dressing table or bureau rognon. The kidney shaped top in the finest amboyna with crossbanding and diamond inlaid of mother of pearl, the substructure back with an oval bevel edge mirror within a gilded bezel with wonderful gilded foliate casting, issuing two gilded arms with elegant nozzles and drip trays (electrified). The three frieze drawers follow the form of the top with elegant cast brass and gilded handles, veneered and polished on all sides, supported on turned tapering legs and finishing on foliate cast feet or sabots.
