Description

Circa 1820. A large mezzotint depicting ‘Sir David Baird of Newbyth,’ in his military uniform with his horse, the bottom of the engraving, originally painted by ‘Sir Henry Rayburn with the engraving by T. Hodgetts and Son.  Published for Alexander Hill, print seller and colourman to the Scottish Academy of Painting, 50 Princes Street.’  The mount with his coat of arms on the base and water stain on the left, glazed in a simple moulded gilt frame.
