Description
Circa 1850. A quality classic D shaped mahogany and inlaid card table by ‘William Trotter of Edinburgh’. The D shaped top in wonderful flame mahogany with ebony and boxwood and satin birch banding. The top is hinged and swivels to reveal the interior similar to the top. The frieze with a classic Trotter feature of quilling with beading beneath, resting on a stylish stem of four curved legs resting on a concave platform base issuing four hipped saber tapering legs with ribbing on the facing, finishing in a cast brass block with the original castors beneath. Provenance by repute, ‘Wedderburn House by Duns.’
