Description
Circa 1790. A late George III Scottish Mahogany whatnot of desirable proportions, the four-tier whatnot with a three-quarter gallery on three tiers, surmounted by four elegant finials with all tiers supported on elegant balustrades, beneath the bottom shelf is a full-length drawer with two knob handles lined in ash (typical Scottish feature), the three-quarter gallery has a chamfer on the inside which is unusual and is particularly Scottish, all resting on four elegant turned legs, finishing on brass cups and castors.
