Description
Circa 1820. Exhibition quality, Gillows of Lancaster, Regency specimen wood nest of 4 tables. The 4 crossbanded tables with multiple veneers, including burr walnut, burr chestnut, rosewood, amboyna, burr maple, and rosewood and birch chess top on the smallest table. Supported on baluster turned legs with matching stretchers. All in excellent condition. A near-identical table is shown in Beard, G., and Goodison, J. (1987) “English Furniture 1500-1840”, p.254, Fig.3.
