Description
Circa 1815. A quality Regency mahogany dining table with three original leaves almost certainly by ‘Gillows of Lancaster’, the top in the finest mellow mahogany with rounded corners and a ribbed fore-edge, the table with a narrow-beaded frieze, rests on eight turned and fluted, classic ‘Gillows’ legs, he two ends separate, the middle legs are set in towards the middle of the table( they do not interrupt the sitter) on a telescopic mechanism, the table would comfortably seat 12 people with three additional leaves inserted.
