Description
Circa 1815, Regency mahogany and inlaid sofa table. The mahogany crossbanded top has two rounded drop flaps and a single drawer at one end and a polished dummy drawer at the other end. The flaps are hinged and when open are held in position by a very stylish carved acanthus bracket. The bracket is aligned with the sofa table end to give a very stylish shape. The drawer is inlaid and there are two inlaid panels on each side of the drawer. Below the top there is a very stylish base which is turned and has carved acanthus leaves on the column. Below this are four elegant swept carved sabre legs which finish in cast brass castors. The cast brass castors are styled in the form of acanthus leaves and finish on simple brass castors. The table has excellent colour and is very stylish.
