Description
Circa 1790, rare Georgian period Adams style desk/writing table. The rectangular top with crossbanded edges and a quality gilt-tooled burgundy hide writing surface, above Neoclassical carved fore-edges. The 3 frieze drawers with fine urn, garland and pendant relief carvings, and the lower drawers also with oval paterae. The sides of the desk with panels and the back with matching faux drawers. Standing on tapering, square supports with inset bellflower pendants over squat stepped feet.
