Description
Circa 1790. A rare George III hand painted and inlaid mahogany tea caddy. The inlaid and crossbanded top with exceptional quality cast ormolu (gilded brass original handle) loop handle. The lid opening to three division interiors. The front with fine hand-painted thistles and roses, possibly symbolizing the union between Scotland and England. All supported on neat turned feet.
