Description
Circa 1800, rare George III military writing box. The solid mahogany lid is removable with locking devices to either side and features a removable lid (felt lined). The hinged lid is supported by a timber ratchet for height adjustment. Brass military handles are either side and diamond escutcheons, with 2 short drawers to the front (with ivory escutcheons) over a long drawer with brass knob handles.
