Circa 1880, George III style mahogany inlaid serpentine fronted sideboard. The top has a crossbanded edge which is framed with ebony string inlay on the front and sides. The fore edges also have string inlay on the top and crossbanded on the front. Beneath this, is a bow front drawer in the centre with cockbeading, crossbanding and inlay and two cast brass lion mask handles. The left door is hinged and opens to reveal a cupboard and the right is a wine drawer. The liners are made in oak and have space for 6 bottles. Beneath the drawer is a second drawer which is carved with fluting and cluster of flowers with scrolls in the centre. There is reeding on both sides of the cupboards which continues into the legs and have way down becomes fluting, finishing on a simple block toe. Wonderful colour, excellent patination.
