Description

Circa 1910, pair of walnut low chairs by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh after a design by Sir Robert Lorimer. The curved back has a shaped up rail and stylish centre splat. The chairs are made in solid walnut. The drop-in seat pad with its gros needlepoint upholstery. The top edge of the frame is rounded and follows the form of the seat pad which is irregular. The back legs are slightly out swept with pad feet. At the front there is a stylish carved knee with quarter brackets and an elegant but squat cabriole leg that finishes on a pad foot. Both chairs are great colour. Very stylish and clean.
