Description

Circa 1900. A stylish pair of Meiji period two tier red lacquered occasional table. The shaped tops painted with garden scenes with figures and buildings. The painted fore edge and frieze with stylish Japanese characteristics, the tables have four elegant cabriole legs, the tops of the legs forming the frieze of the table with further painting, finishing on a curled foot which rests on a platform base with similar figures to the top. The whole piece resting on an enclosed shaped plinth.
