Description
Circa 1825. A quality pair of George IV mahogany library chairs. The upholstered back, arm rests and seat in tan leather with the leather held in place by closed brass studding. The mahogany frame supporting the arms with scrolling ends supported on shaped uprights, the simple seat, back legs are square and slightly out swept and front legs are turned and ring turned finishing with a brass cup with brown castors beneath. Provenance ‘The Royal & Ancient Golf Club, St Andrews’.
