Description
Circa 1860. Outstanding large Rococo-style carved giltwood overmantel mirror from Devizes Castle, Wiltshire. The shaped top with open C scrolls and foliate decorations including clusters of curved acanthus leaves. The old mirror plate with some slight(desirable)foxing.in very good condition and with open-fret foliate giltwood decoration along the top and sides. The shaped sides and the moulded base with further open acanthus scrolls and C scrolls. In excellent condition.
