Circa 1880. A late Victorian oak Aesthetic Movement metamorphic chair, the square rustic back in chamfered oak, the hinged seat with a simple fore-edge with a metal rod, the side for locking into position, when opened it forms a four-tread set of steps, clean, sturdy and functional.
