Circa 1830, late George IV mahogany fold over card table. The rectangular top has a flat fore edge, and is hinged at the back, opening to reveal a baize lined interior. The top swivels and there is a small opening beneath for storing the cards. Beneath the top is an apron with foliate carved sections in the centre and corners. The base is quite robust with two sections. The top section is tapering with a flame mahogany front and double beading in the centre, over a further broader section with a wrap around base of ogee mouldings. From this comes a strong gadrooning, on a platform shaped base with a foliate carving similar to that on the top. This stands on a scrolling foot finishing on a foliate carved quarter bracket. The table has a wonderful architectural look about it and would make a fine side table or card table.
