Description
Circa 1820s. George III style mahogany three part partners pedestal desk, the top with insert tooled in gilded red leather with stylish banding and elegant moulded fore-edge, the front with a configuration of one full length drawer flanked by two shorter drawers, resting on pedestals each with a bank of three drawers, all have cock beaded fore-edges, cast brass swan neck handles and mahogany lining’s, the gables with panels with canted corners, the back with a pair of cupboards with three faux drawers on the top, the desk comes with several keys and the original label’s from when it was retailed by ‘Whytock and Reid of Edinburgh.’
