Description
Circa 1900. An elegant walnut and burr walnut inlaid side chair in the manner of ‘Giles Grendey’. The shaped cresting rail with foliate carving on each side, with a crossbanded shaped and stylish curved walnut splat and uprights, and drop seat in needlepoint, The seat rail with a moulded top with foliate carving on the front, the seat rail following the form of the seat pad. Back legs are shaped and out swept, the front with cabriole legs with large foliate carving on the knees in the form of a cartouche, finishing on a turned pad foot.
