Circa 1825, George IV rosewood freestanding work table. The rectangular top in mirror matched rosewood veneers with simple edges, above a full length drawer with a Brahma style escutcheon, opening to a mahogany interior. Beneath is a recently reupholstered pleated bag for storing wool and needles all on tapering trestle end supports with a rib facing, and scrolling blocks finishing with foliate carving. A turned and ring turned stretcher unites them, and they finish on highest quality carved ball and claw feet with foliate carving to the top and base, scrolling blocks to the sides.
