Description
Circa 1870. A French walnut serpentine shape commode. The top in book matched walnut veneers and broad cross-banding, with a lovely moulded fore edge and a configuration of two full length bow fronted drawers, each of the drawers with a stylish pierced brass and gilded escutcheon and a fine pair of rococo handles. The drawers have similar veneering as the top, the chest has a rounded fore edge with small brass mounts on the top, polished gables with broad cross-banding, a shaped frieze and legs with brass mounts, all resting on four simple cabriole legs.
