Description
Circa 1880. A French empire mahogany, ebonized, parcel gilt and gilt metal mounted marble top gueridon. The top with a circular ribbed Rosso Levanto marble with a moulded edge, supported on four square columns with ormolu mounts to the top, facing and base, secured to the concave quadpartite base with four carved gilt sphinxes. The centre with a bronze in the form of a temple which is supported by four ebonized columns centered by a gilt and patinated bronze centre. The neoclassical gilt metals throughout are in excellent condition.
