Description
Circa 1860. A French Empire fossilised top commode. The rectangular polished fossil top above a long frieze drawer, over three full-length graduating drawers, flanked by a pair of gilt-mounted columns with engraved cast capitals and bases, the drawers with stylish escutcheons and knob handles, resting on a plinth that follows the form of the commode, with pierced ormolu mounts on the front, raised on hemispherical ball feet to the front.
