Description
Circa 1900. A quality Edwardian red walnut cheval mirror probably by’ Morrison & Co. of Edinburgh’. The bevel edge mirror contained in a crisp carved walnut frame surmounted by foliate carving with the frame following the form of the mirror. The shaped mirror frame is held on two tapering uprights which finish with a pair of well carved finials, with cast brass knobs on the side which hold the mirror in place. The base of the uprights are pierced with a heart shape, all resting on trestle ends with a stylish carved stretcher supporting the two uprights, each of the 4 feet with foliate carving on the knees and on the well-shaped foot.
