Description
Circa 1890. Large Victorian brass-bound solid camphorwood trunk with a renowned Hong Kong maker’s label and in perfect condition. The top with brass corners and a central brass plaque, the sides with heavy cast brass carrying handles. The deep lid with inset military handle opens to an interior bearing the original label of Sui Kee Chan, Cabinetmaker, Queens Road East, Hong Kong and bearing The Prince of Wales Medal, awarded at the Colonial and Indian Exhibition of 1866.
