Description
Circa 1770. A Chippendale period mahogany side chair. The shaped cresting rail with a classic pierced back with wonderful motifs, the stuff over seat recently re-upholstered, the fabric being held by closed brass nails. The back legs are slightly out swept and front legs are chamfered on the inside with ribbing on the fore-edge braced by conforming stretchers. Lovely colour and patination.
