Description
Circa 1890.A large Chinese Famille Verte porcelain charger or large plate from the Qing Dynasty. The decoration features hand-painted scenes of figures in traditional clothing and a landscape with buildings executed in the Famille Verte (green family) palette of oval glaze enamels, the border including a detailed diaper pattern interspersed with cartouche contained in decorative motifs. (These were mainly produced for export during the 18th and 19th centuries)
