Circa 1900. An unusual Chippendale style rectangular hinged top piano stool, with upholstery top with a deep frieze, the top is hinged and lockable (with key) opens to reveal an uninterrupted interior. Beneath this is a frieze with blind fret work. The stool stands on four reeded legs, chamfered on the insides with fret cut quarter blocks on all sides, intersected by pierced stretchers. The stool is clean, sturdy and functional.
