Early Victorian Carved Rosewood Pole Screen

Product Description

Circa 1850, early Victorian carved rosewood pole screen and framed needlepoint picture. The screen is in a carved Rococo style frame, which is very elaborate with wonderful carving and pierced open carving at the sides. In the centre there is a gilded slip and a glazed picture which shows a well-dressed gentleman and lady in an exotic location. The colours on the framed picture are excellent indicating it has been well protected away from the sun. At the back there are 2 brass rings which hold the frame in position on the turned upright. At the top of the upright there is a very stylish and elegant finial. The base of the stand is fluted, flared, carved and finishes on 3 stylish cabriole legs.
