Circa 1770, George III mahogany snap top occasional table. The circular top has wonderful figuring in the centre. At the back is the original spring loaded brass and steel clasp. Beneath this is a block which forms the top section of the bird cage action. This sits on a stylish cannon barrel upright terminating on four elegant cabriole legs with stylish pad feet on brass and wooden castors. The castors are unusual, as they are contained in a brass bezel which allows a rotation within a defined area. Wonderful colour and patination.
