Description
Circa 1815. A rosewood freestanding library table probably by ‘James Mein of Kelso’, the rectangular top with rounded corners in book matched rosewood, the frieze with a pair of drawers on one side and faux drawers on the other side, the overlapping top with foliate carved brackets, supported on a pair of tapering trestles with foliate carving, with buttresses and classic dragooning, all resting on a platform base with rounded corners, simple moulding with a polished frieze sitting on four fluted feet with original concealed castors.
