Description
Circa 1890. Late Victorian 3-section oak open bookcase. Surmounted by a simple moulded cornice above a figured oak frieze, the 3 upper bookcase sections each with 4 adjustable shelves are flanked and separated by moulded pilasters. The base with 3 frieze drawers with moulded fronts and brass handles above three cupboards with moulded architectural mouldings opening to shelved deeper bookcases. All on an enclosed plinth base. Lovely figured quarter-cut oak and with a nice mellow colour and patina.
