Description

Circa 1800, late George III mahogany Pembroke table.  A neat size table with a solid top and half round moulded edge, and one end polished with string inlay.  At the opposite end there is a single drawer with similar string inlay to the fore-edge. There are 2 cast brass knob handles with flower head pattern in the centre, stylish back plates and a simple diamond escutcheon in the centre.  The table stands on 4 square tapering legs.  At the top of the legs is a satinwood and ebony banding which continues on both ends. As the legs taper down they finish at the bottom with 4 cast brass cups which follow the same form as the legs and cast brass castors. These have had alterations.
