Description
Circa 1910. A large profusely carved oak font. The octagonal shaped polished top, with a removable lid reveals an uninterrupted interior, the fore edge with carving, and the body with gothic arches with foliate carving intersecting. Beneath this there is a moulded section, and the font rests on an large octagonal column resting on a flared and curved octagonal base with a simple chamfered fore-edge and a flat facing. The unusual and stylish font could be used as a jardinière.
