Description

Circa 1820. A large mahogany two-part linen press, the top with elegant cornice with extensions to the ends, the front with a pair of full length doors with arched proud panels with egg and dart beading and a stylish brass beading between the doors, which open to reveal an uninterrupted interior with a brass rail on the top, the doors are flanked by a pair of circular columns with incised brass capitals and bases, the base section which follows the form of the top with two smaller doors with similar beading, inside one removable or adjustable shelf, the doors are also flanked by a pair of turned columns, all resting on an enclosed plinth which follows the form of the columns and doors.
