Description

Circa 1800. A late George III rosewood, satinwood and inlaid games and sewing table. The hinged top in well figured rosewood with broad banding and string inlay, opens to reveal a felt lined interior, on the side a pair of lopers with original cast brass axe head drops to support the flaps, the other side with a drawer. The frieze is finished on all sides with banding and inlay, retaining the original sewing basket in fabric. The table rests on four elegant legs with string inlay which tapers, finishing on a brass cup and castor. Provenance ‘Kinnaird 1897’ on a label in the drawer.
