Description
Circa 1850. A rare and unusual Regency adjustable simulated rosewood music stand. The hinged slatted upright with a small rest beneath with two brass rods for holding the sheet music in position. The back of the upright has a small ratchet held in place by large brass hinges for adjusting, there are a pair of removable cast brass candle holders. The top with a square stem with a brass insert with apertures top to bottom and can be adjusted to various heights. All resting on an elegant Gillow’s style fluted and tapering stem with a bulbous section on the base issuing three hipped saber legs with a beaded fore-edge and finishing with a tapering cast brass foot with the original castors beneath.
