Description
Circa 1850, large Northern European Biedermeier secrétaire à abattant. The polished top has shaped finials, and an unusual full length drawer with a panel of flame mahogany (which occurs across the chest). With a central large panel of quarter matching, flame mahogany, and pull down flap to an interior lined in flame mahogany and amboyna. Inside is a pull out writing slide, several drawers and a central polished, flame mahogany cupboard. The secretaire has canted corners with pilasters running to the base, and 2 carved, squat cabriole legs to the front and polished blocks to the back.
