Description
Circa 1920. A painted pine, full-sized oaten-straw back Orkney chair of traditional form. The woven straw back tied down with marram grass over the solid pine seat. The David Kirkness style arms with scrolled ends on pine uprights. The square tapering legs, slightly outswept rear legs braced by stretchers. Lovely condition with a nice degree of wear to old paintwork.
