Description
Circa 1970s. A large oak framed Orkney chair of traditional form with classic shaped oak straw back tied with twine topped with marram grass, the drop in seat in marram grass with a classical pattern, the simple arms supported on rectangular uprights, all resting on four pegged legs, back legs slightly splayed and front legs square with a slight taper towards the foot all legs are braced by conforming stretchers. On the inside back rail written in pencil, the name ‘T. Ferguson 919’. In excellent condition.
