Description
Circa 1860. Mid Victorian walnut framed gentleman’s chair. The oval carved back surmounted with a small carved cartouche, with shaped carved padded arms and large pleated stuff over seat, deep buttoned upholstered back, all in a William Morris style fabric, recently reupholstered, the front of the arms scrolling and curled, continue down to form the front of the legs which are profusely carved, the back legs are slightly out swept, the front with a shaped and carved frieze finishing on well-shaped cabriole legs. The chair is clean sturdy and in excellent condition.
