Description
Circa 1920s. A neat sized oak framed child’s Orkney chair, probably by ‘David Kirkness’, of traditional form with old straw back tied with marram grass, the drop in seat with a classic Orcadian pattern in marram grass, with shaped arms with visible peg joints and curved ends supported on simple uprights with brass bolts to the sides, resting on four square legs, the back both slightly splayed and the front legs square and tapering, all braced by conforming stretchers.
