Description
Circa 1860. A quality set of four mid Victorian carved walnut dining chairs. The shaped top rail surmounted with a pierced foliate lifting handle with further carving on the sides. The upholstered back, framed in walnut which is profusely carved at the bottom. The large stuff-over serpentine shaped seat, with the fabric held in place by gimp, back legs square and slightly out-shaped, the cabriole front legs with foliate carving on the knees and reeding on the sides, finishing on a stylish curled foot.
