Description
Circa 1820. A rare, neat size Scottish George IV mahogany bow-fronted chest of drawers. The top with well figured mahogany banded on the back edge, with beading on the fore edge with simple frieze. The front has a configuration of two short over three further full length graduating drawers. Each of the drawers has a neat size turned knob handle, there are fluted tapering pilasters on each end, and the top of the chest conforms to the shape of the front. Beneath the bottom drawer there is similar beading to the top and the whole piece rests on, at the back stout turned feet, at the front elegant turned and tapering feet. The chest has excellent colour and patination.
